Oakridge family home refresh

When this hip couple moved from the West Coast to Calgary, they brought many pieces of West Coast-inspired art and furniture and wanted to recreate the look and feel of West Coast living here in Calgary. This made my heart dance!  Having lived for 12 years in Vancouver, I understood the laid back, ocean-side living they longed for here in the land-locked prairies.

Ciara has a keen design eye and wanted to choose much of the furnishings, lighting and decor herself, so I simply created a story board for her to find inspiration and guidance in.

The chestnut colored, angled wood ceilings are the jumping off point for the rustic and casual West Coast theme.  I selected 2 shades of blue grey for the walls that would compliment the chestnut wood ceilings and suggested neutral furniture in shades of navy, grey and sand beige.

The customers husband had meticulously crafted 3 tree stump side tables which now anchor the living room as a grouped coffee table.
